The Weather

It is a common notion that paranormal activity increases during geomagnetic and electrical storms. Why? It is believed by many that ghosts are a form of energy, and that sightings and encounters increase in both strength and clarity under certain atmospheric conditions that help conduce that energy.   Weather may therefore play a part in what we encounter and how we encounter it.  Most in the field believe that a spirit "feeds" off electrical sources such as electrical appliances and batteries to get this energy, but on days when the air is full of excess energy due to a solar or electrical storm, they have lots of energy around to 'tap into'.

SCGH is still studying the effects of weather conditions so please stay tuned...

The Sun

Solar flaring and acitivties theoreticly have strange effects on activity and equipment during magnetic storms. It is possible to affect communications, readings and other systems such as navigation. It is also possible that the solar activities give power to ghosts and help them manifest more readily because they need so much energy to do so.

Interpretting the Solar X-Ray Monitor:

The Environment

NORMAL

Solar X-ray flux is quiet

X-ray flux< 1.00e-6 W/m^2

ACTIVE

Solar X-ray flux is active

X-ray flux>= 1.00e-6 W/m^2

M Class Flare

An M Class flare has occurred

X-ray flux >= 1.00e-5 W/m^2

X Class Flare

An X Class flare has occurred

X-ray flux >= 1.00e-4 W/m^2

MEGA Flare!

An unprecedented X-ray event has occurred

(X-ray flux >= 1.00e-3 W/m^2

The Earth’s Fields

The Geomagnetic Field status monitor downloads data periodically from the NOAA Space Environment Center FTP server. The previous 24 hours of 3 hour Planetary Kp Index data is analyzed and an appropriate level of activity for the past 24 hours is assigned as follows:

Interpretting the Geomagnetic Field status monitor:

QUIET

the Geomagnetic Field is quiet

Kp < 4

UNSETTLED

the Geomagnetic Field has been unsettled

Kp = 4

STORM!

A Geomagnetic Storm has occurred

Kp > 4

The Moon

As the moon circles the Earth, the shape of the moon appears to change; this is because different amounts of the illuminated part of the moon are facing us. The shape varies from a full moon (when the Earth is between the sun and the moon) to a new moon (when the moon is between the sun and the Earth). When the shape changes, it also has affect on the geomagnetic fields. Most believe that the magnetic fields are the strongest on the days around the full and new moon cycles. Spirit activity is found to be more prominent during these times.
